Frisco Helpers’ volunteers provide minor home maintenance and repair services with a key focus on safety issues in the home. Minor repairs are typically of the type that could be performed by a team of volunteers within three hours and may include but are not limited to:

  • Small section fence repairs:
    Remounting pickets to stringers, stringers to posts, and gate repairs
  • Interior home maintenance:
    Replacing light bulbs and light fixtures, installing ceiling fans, replacing batteries in smoke detectors, replacing faulty smoke detectors,  fixing or replacing leaking faucets and toilets, replacing disposals, minor wall (sheetrock) repair and painting,  interior caulking, hanging pictures and wall art, replacing door locksets and hardware, screen repair, etc.
  • Home safety repairs:
    Installing safety bars in showers and toilet closets, installing inside wooden wall rails, building and installing wheelchair ramps, installing outdoor metal rails,  installing toilet safety frames, etc.

 

Repairs Not included are: inside the wall repairs, roof repairs, cosmetic painting, irrigation systems, foundation repairs, landscaping services, fence replacement or post straightening, computer/phone/doorbell camera installation or repair, technology operating instructions, house cleaning services, and all work that requires state licensing.

We help seniors and others with special needs within the Frisco Community or those associated with our sponsoring organizations. There is no charge for the help we provide. Donations are welcome to offset cost of materials, expenses and to help others who are less fortunate.
